Life will give you whatever experience is most helpful for the evolution of your consciousness. How do you know this is the experience you need? Because this is the experience you are having at this moment. – Eckhart Tolle
It’s considerably easier to believe that things are unfolding as they should when it’s all going you’re way, idnit?
It’s true, though. The handbone is connected to the wristbone, and things stack up on each other. So pay attention. It all matters.
I’m going to disagree with this truth and all of the sister truths: God only gives you what you can handle, Everything happens for a reason, etc.
Sometimes experiences break you and you never recover. There is suicide and crime. There’s insanity. The implication that my consciousness somehow “needs” a terrible event to happen in order to teach me something is amazingly hurtful. I reject it.
I rewrite it as follows:
Life will give you endless experiences and there can be something to learn from all of them. As loving people, we need to decide which ones we will let define us and which ones we will let fall aside. Sometimes what we learn is to let it go.
I might go get a piece of Kraft paper card stock and type that up and put it in the box.
